2025 in pics. We started the year with bug snugs,

2025 in pics. We started the year with bug snugs, followed by bulbs and cactus. We planted a Yellowhorn (Xanothocerus) but it died and now it’s an incredible hummer perch. Over 175 people arrived for the Wash Park neighborhood garden crawl. Penstomen palmeri with a heady scent. Kevin @timetamelt and I received a huge award from the Garden Club of America. Oh and the Agave bloomed. Mack the hummer is actually Macy and she came back. And then Autumn. All brought to you by the epic partnership of @timetamelt , me, and an amazing group of volunteers. Thanks for loving and supporting this garden.

Baldwin’s ironweed in full bloom, greets visitors as they enter the garden. And acts as a screen so that you have to walk around or through it to see the full garden.

During the hot dry months, plants don’t tend to

During the hot dry months, plants don’t tend to flower. But as autumn approaches, the blooms come on strong and the year ends with a bang. Blooming: golden rod, Liatris, Agastache, Russian sage, Cupids Dart, Monarda, Euphorbia, and many more.

Today we cut down the agave bloom. It was starting

Today we cut down the agave bloom. It was starting to lean too much for my comfort. We decided to “replant” her in the middle of the garden so visitors could see this amazing plant up close and watch her return to the earth. @timetamelt and Justin cut her down, Dale (an original volunteer) dug a 4’ deep hole and with reverence she was placed in her final resting place.
